Cloudy Days, Bright Hearts: Moving Through with Self-Love



Hey Loves!


Some days just aren’t all sunshine and blue skies, and today is one of those days for me. I’m feeling a bit down, working through some emotional challenges after my last session with phycologist. But here’s the thing – feeling negative emotions or being a little down is totally alright. The key is rising above it and really looking at what you’re experiencing. When you remove the resistance to feeling negative and let go of the desire to only feel positive, that shift helps you find a bit more ease. By accepting this low time and remembering that it won’t last forever, you give yourself the clarity to move through it.


Take today, for example. I had planned to do yoga, but I slept late last night and woke up feeling far from fresh. So, no yoga. Instead, I made myself a nice breakfast, dragged myself out of the house, and headed to a coffee shop to work on some admin tasks.


But I didn’t just roll out in my pajamas – I took a moment to care for myself. I put on clothes that made me feel good, switched up my jewelry, and gave myself a little mirror check to make sure I was looking nice. Self-care, right? Now, I’m sitting here with a big cup of tasty coffee (maybe even a little snack on the side), taking my time to savor it before I dive into my to-do list. Will I finish everything? Who knows. The real win is that I’m still choosing to show up for myself and not get lost in negative thoughts and sit at home.


And I’ve got a plan – tonight, I’m going for a interval run. It’s the highlight of my day, and I’m already getting myself pumped for it.
